This Philco Model 531 Lowboy Console was one of the
first radios Philco manufactured.  The year was 1928
when Philco unveiled their first line of radio receivers.
The model 531 sold for $200.  During its first year, Philco
generated around 13 Million dollars selling radios and
radio equipment.

This Radio came from an estate auction in Irvine
Kentucky.  According to my information, the radio was
purchased new by Mr. C. T. Woods.  One of the tubes
(Radiotron 26 still working) came from Kearns Radio
Service Ravenna Kentucky Phone Number 506-2.  The
radio works well for its age.
